U () = )( ± P S I O N T I P A N D T R I C K S T O P I C: Local Toronto Support There is an office in Toronto now, the PSION Canada Regional Office. The number is 416/447-0623 and I think it is at 1370 Don Mills Road. The key contact there is Lloyd Wasser. He said they do support only, no sales, and they will fix battery cables on the spot! Takes 15 minutes. H O W T O S P O T T H E P R O B L E M If you experience really weird problems with power and batteries you likely have a broken battery lead. Symptoms are: - fresh batteries seem to be used up in days - fresh batteries reported LOW or REPLACE immediately on insertion - dies suddenly as your typing - alarms don't fire - when you open or close unit, it powers off - severe data corruption in Agenda C O R R E C T I O N S Adam sent me some comments on the password newsletter: - In the owner information on the start up screen my last line reads "return for reward", hopefully an added incentive to return the unit. I wasn't sure if you mentioned this or not. - for my passwords file I've created a subdirectory called secret under the word directory. My files are password protected, but they also don't show up on the main screen. It means that I have to press and change directories to get at the files, but I only need to get at them if I lose my wallet, or get a new credit card, so this is not very inconvenient. Just another way to dupe a psion illiterate thief. Thanks!
